The Importance of Testing
Ok, so I made my first silly mistake this week (for this project anyway). After rebranding the list building report I renamed it to something a bit more user friendly and descriptive. Unfortunately I forgot to change the link on the thank you page to reflect this new name. Doh! So anyone who actually signed up for the free report would be getting a dead link instead. Not good.
When I tested the system at the weekend, I went through the whole process EXCEPT the final step of trying to actually download the free product. This is such a simple step I guess I just assumed that nothing could go wrong, totally forgetting that I’d changed the name of the eBook before uploading it.
So, lesson learned, test EVERYTHING, and then test it again.

Thanks Carl for the reply!
The social bookmark plugin you use is nice, but not exactly the one I am looking for.
I am trying to find one that is simple looking and always shows where you do not have to click for it to appear.
Pretty much the same one that Dean is using will go good with my blog. I am trying to keep everything eye-pleasing.
Still, I like the one you have better than the one I am currently using!
Hi Carl…nice to see that someone else did a similar thing as I did when setting up the site. Blog looks good and pleasing , I am looking at various plugins to get an idea as to what well do what..there is so many out there and boy can you spend a lot of time going through them..
Hear you on the next call…
Best regards..Paul
P.S: look forward to seeing you on my site.

Hi Carl, did you also test the payment processing with Paypal and the redirection link?
I did and the first time I messed up. But then the $47 got charged to my credit card and I got to the videos.
Now I’m waiting a coupe of days to go back to Paypal and give myself a refund
Warm regards,

Hey Carl – I hear you on testing. Nice post – I gotta remember to always do this myself. I tend to rush things and get over excited to launch things before I test.

Tonight I was so excited as I finally got my blog online. Now I’m out and about among fellow Alex students, seeing what’s been done and I’m sitting back staring at the screen thinking are you guys all pros or what? One blog after another – each with unique and helpful content. I am very impressed. I guess I won’t be learning just from Alex!

Thanks, it is so nice to see I am not the only one learning by error. That must be what they mean by “falling forward”
Keep moving forward

Hi Carl!
I agree with Daniel…I’ve been blown away with every blog I’ve visited. Trying to get around to posting on all of them…how many of us must there be? LOL!
If it makes you feel any better, I had to install my blog twice before I finally got it right!
Best wishes,
Honey

Hi Carl,
That had to be frustrating! Makes me think I should go and double check all my links. In fact, I think I will. Better safe than sorry. Glad you got it all worked out.
I’ve added you to my blogroll. Feel free to do the same.
Best of luck,
Debbie

Hi, my name is Paul Hamilton and I am also one of Alex’s students. I just thought I would say Hi. I have been so busy trying to catch up with everything that Alex is teaching us, I haven’t had time for anything else. Isn’t Alex fantastic ? I just cannot believe how much I am learning. I love your blog. Would you please add my site to your blogroll. Thanks Paul
Just wondering if you’d add my blog to your blogroll list of Alex’s students. I’ll do the same with yours. Just let me know when it up.
My blog URL is: http://www.buildingmailinglists.com
Thanks
Just to say, I have at last set up my blog thanks to Mark Terrell another coaching student. His help and support was brilliant, he guided me every step of the way. I would still be out there somewhere floundering but for him. Thanks Mark
Hi can you please add me to your blog roll as one of Alex Jeffrey’s students http://www.jjbullard.com
