Sneaky Email Tricks

Well, it’s not really sneaky just quite clever so I thought I’d share it with my readers.

Most people realise the importance of list building these days and you’ll often hear many different marketers obsessing over the size and quality of their lists, and how to build a good relationship with it. These are indeed important factors. However, the problem is none of that is going to do you any good if your subscriber hasn’t even opened your email to read it.

You can in fact expect only 20-30% of your subscribers to actually open any email that you send them. Don’t panic though, as this isn’t necessarily something that you are doing wrong. Some will just be too busy that day to read your email, or will maybe file it away ‘to be read later’ which of course we know that time rarely comes, or your email could just get lost in the flood of emails we all seem to receive these days.

So, is there anything that can be done about this? Well, for some people this may not be possible as some autoresponders don’t support this feature, but if you can filter your list and send to only those who did not open your email then why not send it again with a different subject? Jeff Walker tried this in a recent promotion and said that he doubled the amount of sales by sending 3 emails in this way instead of just the one. What a difference!

Neither myself or Jeff can take credit for this idea though. It is just one of the tactics that Ryan and Perry will show you in their sneaky email tricks report. I strongly recommend that you take a look at this.

Hey Carl,

I’ve been away for awhile so I thought I’d pop back and see how everyone is doing. Really like the lay out of your blog here, looks like your doing really well, congratulations! Also like your tip reg sneaky email tips, believe Alex Jeffreys spoke about this as well in his coaching. Worthwhile taking on board and doing ;-)

Hi Carl,

I like your theme a lot and I am looking for something like this for my next site, also I am very interested where can I find your Bookmark This Post button that has is all hidden with mouse-over feature. Is that a plugin?

I would appreciate sharing your information on these, if you don’t mind.

Thanks in advance,

Dagmar

Thank you Carl for this info and fast response too.
It does help, I will have to hold off on that choice for now as I too am trying to go back to listen to Alex’s past webinars. There is really a lot that I missed.

Thanks,
Dagmar

Hi Carl,

Interesting idea about resending email with a different title.

It just goes to show how important the subject line is.

Something I picked up that may be of use;

If you’re like me you get bombarded with emails offering anything and everything, but before hitting the delete button, if any subject line does attract your attention copy the subject line and keep it in a file.

If it got your attention, you may be able to use it yourself sometime in the future.

Bye for now
John

Hi…I like the idea about changing the title of the email. It’s true…alot of people just don’t open their mail because they have stored it somewhere else and then forgot about it. Crazy busy world!

Hi Carl,
I like your sneaky email tip. Is there a way to automate the process of sending two or three emails to the “non-opened” emails? I’ve heard of “drip emails” but I’ve only found the drip starts from the responders, not the non-openers. I’m certain someone has thought of this before. Perhaps someone can point me into the right direction…??

Thanks
Brian
