Pay Per Click

Some of the ways to make a quick buck on the Internet is to try your hand at Pay per Click Advertising. It is no secret that this is one of the most reliable ways of earning real money on the virtual economy. The secret is the more number of traffic; the more will be the sales. This is mainly because; PPC advertising drives the relevant traffic to the site which helps the owner to gather sizable revenue. Listed below are some ways PPC can be a good source of money:

• You need to have a thorough understanding of a product. If you do not believe in the product, how will you sell it to a potential buyer? The more you are aware of your service or product, the better you will be able to explain the benefits and the positive points. Thereby, you can increase your traffic and generate income.
• You need to stay within your prescribed budget. PPC advertising may lead to you spending a whole chunk of cash to reap the returns, but make sure you do not spend more than you have to.
• You need to develop an effective list of keywords and write your advertisement with a creative copy. By making use of the targeted keywords, you can attract the targeted customers who will do more than just click on your ad. However, do not underestimate the power of the click. You can get conversions from the number of clicks your keywords receive per hour. However, being featured as a top advertisement is not enough. The advertisement should be tempting enough for the customer so that he buys the product.
• You need to learn the intricacies of the bidding process. A working knowledge of the bidding process can be of more help than you can imagine. This will also stop you from spending too much to get the clicks. It will also help the owner to bid the right amount for the targeted keyword.
• You need to have an effective landing site. Once you have made the commitment to spending the money to attract the customers to the site, you need to make sure the sales copy on your website is tempting enough for them to be hooked on to the product.
• You need to carefully analyze and scrutinize your campaign. You need to have a fair idea of which keywords work and which doesn’t. Know the ones that encourage people to click on them and how many clicks are converted into sales. If the clicks are not bringing in the desired revenue, replace them with new ones.

Pay per click or banner advertising is an opportunity that is available for website owners by using the website traffic. The sponsor will be instrumental in supplying the HTML and the banner to paste on your page. You can receive payment for each person who even clicks on the banner that you place on the website. Average pay-per-click pays ranges from $0.05 to $0.20 per click. However, the commission is liable to increase as the traffic increases.

I’ve been having a look at the free reports and software that Ryan Diess has been giving out this week in the build up to the launch of his Perpetual Traffic Formula. I didn’t bother downloading his Cherry Picker software as I already have the full version of market samurai which does everything and more that Cherry Picker does. I’ve read people saying that these two software programs give different results, and asking which is most accurate but seeing as you can’t get fully accurate results for this kind of thing anywhere anyway, it seems a bit pointless to worry about that.

The two reports that have come out contain a few interesting stats and some solid bits of content, but most of it wasn’t new to me and won’t be news to anyone who’s done much search engine optimization. He starts with the ‘Perpetual Traffic Report’ showing some stats on the decline of pay per click traffic and a switch back to organic traffic which was (if true) pretty interesting, I have to admit I didn’t realise that sponsered ads got such a small percentage of clicks these days although I don’t do much PPC so that’s not surprising.

Getting to the meat of the first report, he claims that a combination of content, backlinks and activity will boost your rankings but that you MUST do all three and most people just concentrate on the first two. He emphasises that if google doesn’t see activity on your site in the form of comments, feed subscriptions and changing content then they will not rank your site highly. I’m not sure whether this is true, he talks about a google algorithm shift but seeing as google never realeases information like this I am currently taking his claim with a pinch of salt. It seems his course will teach you how to use google tools like feedburner to make it look like your site has a lot of activity, although he’s making the assumption that google uses these tools in it’s website search engine rankings.

Of course, results are king in my book. I’m looking forward to seeing what he comes up with in his course next week and if implementing it shows the massive gain in traffic that he is claiming it will then he obviously knows what he’s talking about!

The second report, the authority codes, is useful if you don’t know them but they’re not really secret codes they’re just search expressions to find high PR blogs that you can comment on to get links. If you don’t know how to do this then download them by all means.
